More than 450,000 head of cattle are marketed through Joplin Regional Stockyards annually, making Joplin the largest cow/calf auction in the nation.
Joplin Regional Stockyards has been a fixture in the four-state region for more than 70 years.
The sale on Monday averages roughly 7,500/head and sets the stage for feeder cattle prices around the country. The sale starts at 8am and runs until about 3-4 pm.
