World Champion Auctioneer to Showcase His Chant at Red Angus Feeder Calf Sales
DENVER – The World Livestock Auctioneer Champion, Will Epperly, will showcase his chant and call at two special Red Angus FCCP sales in the coming weeks. Epperly, who hails from Dunlap, Iowa, won the 58th annual WLAC competition in Shipshewana, Indiana, in June, and is spending the year traveling the country sharing his talents with auction markets and acting as a spokesman for the livestock marketing industry, according to the Livestock Marketing Association, which sponsors the competition.
Fall ushers in a full schedule of special Red Angus sales as profit-minded producers capitalize on the value-added tenets of the Feeder Calf Certification Program, the industry’s best-recognized genetic, age and source verification program.
Valentine Livestock Auction in Valentine, Nebraska, will host Epperly at its Red Angus FCCP sale on October 20. The following week, on October 25, Epperly will cry the sale at Mobridge Livestock Market in Mobridge, South Dakota.
“Red Angus is proud to be a sponsor of the WLAC and provide our producers the opportunity to have their cattle sold by World Champion Will Epperly,” said Harold Bertz, RAAA director of commercial marketing. “The special sales throughout the country featuring cattle enrolled in our FCCP and AA programs are a great mechanism for producers to achieve extra premiums. Adding the World Champion auctioneer brings an extra level of excitement to Red Angus ranchers’ sale day,” he added.
Producers who wish to consign cattle to these auctions should contact the auction market directly.
