Established in 1954, it holds the distinction of being the oldest running livestock auction in the state, serving the needs of cattle producers not only in Arizona but also in Southwestern New Mexico.

A Legacy of Service

This storied auction house has seen generations of cattle pass through its gates, and its history is deeply intertwined with the growth and development of the region's cattle industry. In 1996, it changed hands and became the property of the current owners: Sonny Shores, Ken Martella, and Scott McDaniels. For Sonny Shores, this was not just a business venture; it was a continuation of a family legacy. His father had been the previous owner, so Sonny had grown up in the world of livestock auctions.

Under the stewardship of Sonny and his partners, Willcox Livestock Auction has undergone numerous improvements. The physical facilities have been enhanced, and the addition of five acres of corrals has boosted its holding capacity to an impressive 4,500 head of cattle. Technological advancements are also part of the auction's modernization journey, with a comprehensive computer system in place to streamline operations. Furthermore, the auction offers an online service through DV Auction, making it more convenient for both sellers and buyers to participate in livestock trading.

While embracing modernity, Willcox Livestock Auction remains steadfast in its commitment to tradition. Its primary objective is to serve both sellers and buyers with unwavering dedication. This commitment extends beyond the physical auction itself; it's about providing a comprehensive suite of services to meet the diverse needs of the livestock industry.

At the heart of this venerable institution is a team of experienced professionals, including Paul Ramirez. Paul is not only an International Livestock Champion Auctioneer but also a three-time Arizona State Champion Auctioneer. His remarkable skills have earned him recognition as one of the top 30 livestock auctioneers in the United States, and he's been a finalist in the International Auctioneers Championship (IAC). Paul's bilingual abilities allow him to conduct auctions in both English and Spanish, further broadening the auction's reach and appeal.

In addition to his auctioneering prowess, Paul Ramirez is a familiar face to many, thanks to his role on TLC's reality show, "Auctioneer$." Beyond the auction block, he's a dedicated fundraiser, having raised millions of dollars since 1991 for various non-profit organizations. Paul is also the Co-Founder of The Advanced Auctioneers Academy and The Auction and Appraise Academy and serves as the President of Ramirez Auction Service.
