In the heart of cattle country, where rugged terrain meets rolling plains, Sutphin Cattle Company has been a steadfast presence since its inception in 1987. Founded by John Sutphin III, S & S Land and Cattle Inc. began with a handful of high-quality registered cattle. Over the years, this modest start has grown into a substantial operation with approximately 2,000 head of registered and commercial cattle, spanning across Colorado, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Colorado Roots: The Colorado ranches are strategically situated near Lamar, inviting visitors to witness the essence of our program firsthand. In Wiley, CO, our bull pavilion houses weaned calves under the watchful eye of our yard manager. Prioritizing soundness and docility, we ensure that our bulls are always ready to perform, even in the harshest conditions.
Expanding in Oklahoma: The drought of 2013 prompted an expansion into Southeastern Oklahoma, solidifying our presence in the region and extending our herd and family.

Sales are a cornerstone of our operation, with events held annually in Lamar, CO, Winter Livestock in La Junta, CO, Syracuse Livestock Commission in Syracuse, KS (spring), and a new addition, sales in Florida for fall breeders.
