Sidney Livestock Market Center Sets New Records
Sidney Livestock Market Center, a cornerstone of Eastern Montana and Western North Dakota’s ranching community for over 65 years, achieved new milestones on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The center set two personal records during its weekly cattle sale, highlighting its dedication to providing a competitive market for livestock producers.
The first record was for 3-weight steers, with 16 steers averaging 330 pounds selling at an impressive $482.50 per hundredweight (cwt). The second record was for 5-weight steers, as 34 steers averaging 512 pounds reached $371.50 per cwt. These remarkable prices underscore the strong demand for quality cattle and Sidney Livestock’s role in maximizing value for local producers.
Sidney Livestock Market Center operates with a mission to market cattle at their best potential every time they pass through the ring. With a capacity for 5,000 animals, the center has become a hub for ranchers, offering full-service facilities, video auctions, and a steadfast commitment to the livestock industry. As they celebrate these record-breaking achievements, Sidney Livestock continues to honor the cattlemen and women of the region, who work tirelessly to produce sustainable, high-quality beef that fuels people around the globe.
