Retail chicken prices down 5 cents from last month

Retail chicken prices were at $4.32/lb. in March, down 5 cents from the prior month and up 55 cents from the same time last year.  Retail chicken prices have averaged $4.33 so far in 2023.

Retail chicken prices averaged $4.32 in 2022.  Retail chicken prices averaged $3.41 in 2021, up 19 cents from to 2020.  Retail chicken prices averaged $3.22 in 2020, up 20 cents from to 2019.  Retail chicken prices averaged $3.02 in 2019, down 6 cents from to 2018. Retail chicken prices averaged $3.20 in 2017 and $3.25 in 2016.

Retail chicken prices have been over $3 since April 2020.
