Product Feature: The Gallagher Tumble Wheel
Gallagher’s Tumble Wheel is a longstanding, but underutilized, product. It allows producers to maintain a fence’s power while repositioning its location. Tumble Wheels can also cut down on the amount of time required to reposition a fence, and when used in intensive management operations, they can help maximize forage potential.
Tumble Wheels are very easy to assemble. An aluminum plate is held in place to a central plastic hub via six lightweight, aluminum legs and one “C tube” (a center tube that goes into a hub). The way the plate is positioned in the hub allows power to pass from the Gallagher turbo wire running through the C tube through the legs of the Tumble Wheel that aren’t touching the ground. This prevents cattle from accidentally making contact with the tumble wheel while in use.
Tumble Wheels should be placed 50-60 feet apart with a turbo wire cross fence, using reels on each end. The reels anchor each end of the fenceline to keep the tumble wheels upright. When repositioning their fence line, producers can move to one anchor point with their reel and walk – keeping a little tension on the line – and the tumble wheel will begin to roll to a newly-desired cross fence location.
