Mitchell Livestock (Mitchell, SD) delivered one of the most historic sales in its history on June 12th, setting the market ablaze with an astonishing 33 new all-time price records across a wide range of weight classes. The barn posted new national highs for 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10-weight steers, showcasing the sheer depth of demand and reaffirming Mitchell’s status as a bellwether for feeder cattle pricing. 

The most remarkable action occurred in the heavier weights—9-weight steers set 8 new records, and all top 10 record prices for 10-weights were shattered during the sale, accounting for 18 new records just between those two categories. Among the standout sales were 24 head at 600 lbs bringing $408.00, 41 head at 709 lbs at $366.00, 15 head at 922 lbs fetching $307.50, and 56 head at 1,036 lbs topping the charts at $287.35—each establishing a new national benchmark for their respective classes.
