Limousin Cattle on Display at 2021 Cattlemen’s Congress in Oklahoma City


Limousin and Lim-Flex breeders were under the bright lights at the Cattlemen’s Congress to showcase their genetics. The Level 1 Medal of Excellence Limousin Show was held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Oklahoma City. Jack Ward, Plattsburg, Mo. evaluated the 105 females and 34 bulls.

The grand champion Limousin female was Ratliff Google 911G ET exhibited by Brady Edge, West Branch, Iowa. She is a March 3, 2019, 50 percent Lim-Flex female sired by Silveiras Style 9303. This female was first named Division five champion.

Bailey Tomson, Westport, Ind., exhibited the reserve champion Limousin female. JSZC TSSC Larissa 49G ET is an April 9, 2019, 50 percent Lim-Flex heifer sired by Silveiras Style 9303. This heifer came from Division five as well.

The grand champion cow/calf pair was awarded to Colt Schrader, Beggs, Okla., who exhibited CTSH Elegance 105E. She is a purebred sired by DVFC Sitting Bull and born September 19, 2017.

In the bull show, AUTO How It's Done 1219H ET was named grand champion Limousin Bull. He is a March 1, 2020, 50 percent Lim-Flex bull sired by Colburn Primo 5153. This bull was exhibited by Pinegar Limousin and Circle R, Springfield, Mo., and was from Division one champion.

The reserve champion Limousin bull was Schillings Game Over, an April 3, 2019, 50 percent Lim-Flex bull sired by Schillings R&L Classified. This bull came from Division four and was exhibited by Davis Limousin Ranch, Brownwood, Texas.

At the conclusion of the show, the premier breeder award went to Madison Ratliff, Westphalia, Kan. The premier exhibitor award went to Colt Schrader, Beggs, Okla.

During the week of Cattlemen’s Congress, exhibitors nominate candidates and vote for the herdsman of the year award. The 2021 Limousin herdsman winner was Wiley Fanta, Starbuck, Minn.
