Iowa corn production down 288 million bushels

Iowa produced 2.296 billion bushels of corn in 2020, down 287.7 million bushels from the prior year.  

The most corn ever produced in Iowa was 2.74 billion bushels in 2016.   It is the only time that Iowa had produced over 2.7 billion bushels.

Iowa first produced 1 billion bushels of corn in 1971.    Iowa first produced 2 billion bushels of corn in 2004.     Iowa has produced more than 2 billion bushels of corn every year since 2004 except for 2012.
