Historic Ranch Tours up for Auction by Red Angus Foundation, Inc.

Denver – Cattle enthusiasts have the opportunity to experience once-in-a-lifetime ranch tours by bidding in the Red Angus Foundation, Inc. annual auction. The annual RAFI auction, which will take place Oct. 23-27 on DVAuction, has moved online this year in the wake of the cancelation of the National Red Angus Convention and will offer bidders rare western ranch experiences available nowhere else.

“A pair of lots we are most excited about in this year's RAFI auction are the two unique herd visits. Both are being held at historic ranches – Beckton Stock Farm in Sheridan, Wyoming, and R.A. Brown Ranch in Throckmorton, Texas – that have been in business for more than 100 years. The Beckton Stock Farm experience provides the high bidder the opportunity to explore in depth where the breed was founded and still thrives. A highlight will be a cattle drive in the Big Horn Mountains. The R.A. Brown Ranch package has an exclusive photography workshop conducted by the best in the business and should be of interest to anybody with a passion to hone their ranch photography skills, whether they have a Red Angus connection or not,” said RAFI president, Dr. Bob Hough.

At the heart of RAFI are generous stakeholders whose vision for the future far surpasses their own ranches. Through their donations, memorial contributions and fundraising assistance, RAFI is empowered to support junior programs and advance the breed’s position in the industry through research and development. The proceeds of the RAFI auction will be donated to the RAFI Research Fund. This fund ensures RAFI will continue to finance meaningful research projects throughout the U.S. and continue RAAA’s longstanding tradition of providing universities with much needed beef cattle research funding.

In addition to the pair of historic tours, buyers will vie for several pieces of artwork, a herd evaluation package conducted by the RAAA marketing staff, an engraved Henry rifle, framed western lifestyle photos, select historical Red Angus items and their pick of females from one of three herd. DVAuction will manage the online event, which will be a horse-race type auction.
