New lithium solar energizer delivers reliable power to off-grid farm and ranch operations.

In 2021, the company took electric fencing to the next level by introducing the world-first Lithium Solar Fence Energizer, the S12 Lithium. The global Agritech company has introduced the next evolution - the S30 Lithium Solar Fence Energizer.
Capable of powering up to 20 miles of fencing across 60 acres, the S30 Lithium is the ideal solution for implementing rotational grazing and pasture management on your property, especially where access to a grid power source is limited.
Gallagher has replaced heavy lead-acid batteries with lightweight lithium iron phosphate embracing the latest battery technology - this innovation makes it easier for the farmer to transport around the farm.
The game changer is that the S30 Lithium has 40% more voltage than lead acid battery models, making it the market's most reliable 'off the grid' energizer. The battery used in the S30 Lithium also charges three times faster and lasts three times longer than a lead acid battery.
Another key feature of the S30 Lithium is its patented double-glazed solar panel and plastic enclosure, which protects internal circuitry and the lithium battery from extreme temperatures.
Gallagher, Product Manager for Energizers XinLi, explains that the capacity of a lead-acid battery is about 60%; otherwise, it will not recover. He says lithium batteries are better at holding their charge, allowing more significant depletion to almost zero and fully regenerated.
"Because you can use a lithium battery's whole range of capacity, it can be smaller," he says. "It can also manage many more charge/discharge cycles, so it lasts 7-10 years, as opposed to a conventional battery which typically only lasts three seasons. Switching to lithium makes sense whichever way you look at it."
Gallagher's team of experts are world-renowned as gurus of electric fence technology. The S30 Lithium is a further testament to its capabilities.
"The technology behind the S30 Lithium is smart and much like built-in artificial intelligence," says Xin. "A microprocessor tracks the amount of solar energy coming in and operates the unit most efficiently. It ensures the energizer can still operate effectively during extended periods of low light, like in winter or overcast days, and it adjusts itself to keep stock where it should be while not over-discharging the battery."
Gallagher has led the way in the development of solar-powered energizers. Xin says like all Gallagher solutions, farmers had input into the initial Lithium solar energizer product concept.
"We started the whole process by doing some research with our customers. We had feedback from more than 300 farmers worldwide, who told us how they used our current solar-powered energizers, what worked, and any issues they had.
"We came up with several concepts, which we tested with a selection of farmers for their feedback. They like the S12 Lithium and S30 Lithium's compact size and the fact that they mount to a post, further enhancing the reliability by keeping the solar panel clear of grass and out of the water.
