Callaway Livestock Center (Kingdom City, MO) was named the Superior Steel Sales Stickout Sale of the Day by Corbitt Wall on Tuesday's Feeder Flash, after delivering a powerhouse run that set 14 new barn records โ including all-time highs for 5-, 6-, and 7-weight steers. Five-weights led the charge, accounting for 52% of steer receipts and averaging a record $423.66, the highest weighted average ever posted for that class at the barn. Among the standout sales:

That prior benchmark was driven by a standout sale of 601 head (863 lbs) at $318.00. Mondayโs sale officially rewrote the record books, producing the top 3 highest prices ever paid at the barn and securing 5 of the top 10 all-time.

On Monday, August CME Feeder Cattle futures surged $4.225 to close at $313.725, bringing the board nearly even with the RTI 7-Day Feeder Index, which ended at $313.72, up $0.66. Meanwhile, the National Steer Price held firm at $316.46, down just $0.02, maintaining a slight premium of $2.74 over the August futures. The rally in futures helped close the basis gap, aligning the board more closely with recent cash market strength.

On Monday, the largest cattle sale in the country was at Joplin Regional Stockyards (Carthage, MO), with 5,906 head, followed by Callaway (Kingdom City, MO) at 3,031. Olean (Eldon, MO) and Gainesville (Gainesville, MO) posted similar volumes with 1,086 and 1,069 head, respectively, while BG Lexington (Lexington, KY) rounded out the top five at 914. Overall receipts were down 22% from last Tuesday.
