Beaver County Stockyards is once again making history, following up back-to-back blowout sales with another record-setting performance. Todayโ€™s run saw 22 new barn records fall, with all-time highs set in the 4-, 7-, 8-, and 9-weight categories. The spotlight belonged to the 8-weights, which dominated the dayโ€”claiming seven of the top ten prices ever recorded at the barn, including the six highest on record.

Flint Hills Stockyards in Saint Marys, KS delivered one of the most remarkable sales in its history on Tuesday, setting 11 new barn records and posting all-time highs in the 6-, 8-, 9-, and 10-weight classes. The standout performance came from the 8-weights, which shattered four barn records alone. Leading the charge was a group of 65 head weighing 809 lbs that sold for $337.50/cwt, establishing a new Kansas state record for 8-weight steers and ranking as the fourth-highest 8-weight price ever recorded nationally.  The 9-weights also made headlines, with 166 head averaging 904 lbs bringing $322.00/cwt. This sale now ranks as the third-highest 9-weight price in Kansas history and 10th all-time nationally. 

Feeder cattle futures rallied on Tuesday, with the August CME contract climbing $2.80 to settle at $322.275, narrowing the gap with the cash market. The RTI Feeder Index gained $0.91 to $321.76, nearly on par with futures.   The National Steer Price surged another $4.05 to $326.20, extending its lead over both the Index and futures.

Feeder cattle sales on Tuesday were led by Beaver County (Beaver, OK) with 3,835 head. Ozarks (West Plains, MO) followed with 2,215 head, and OKC West (El Reno, OK) moved 2,072 head. Kingsville (Kingsville, MO) sold 1,812 head, while Stockmens (Yankton, SD) reported 1,368 head.  Receipts were up 6% from last Tuesday.

8-weight steers (800โ€“899 lb) set a new all-time high on Tuesday, July 15, closing at $322.29/cwt. This surpasses the previous peak of $320.84 set just one week earlier, marking a new record for this weight class amid sustained feeder market strength.
