In total, Thursday accounted for five of the ten highest 9-weight steer prices ever recorded, with just four from Wednesday and one from June 5 still remaining in the top ranks.

At Woodward Livestock (OK), Thursday marked a historic run as the barn posted 20 all-time record sales, including new barn highs for 8-, 9-, and 10-weight steers. Leading the action, 10 head at 812 lbs sold for $325.00, followed by 173 head at 962 lbs at $302.25, and 55 head at 1,012 lbs hitting $293.00. Woodward also achieved depth across the board: five of the top 10 all-time 8-weight sales, all top 5 sales for 9-weights, and seven of the top 10 highest 10-weight prices in barn history were set in this single sale.

Farmers and Ranchers Livestock (Salina, KS) also delivered one of its most successful auctions to date, setting 20 barn records. The sale featured new all-time highs for the barn in the 6-, 7-, 8-, 9-, and 10-weight classes. Standout sales included 25 head at 607 lbs selling for $397.00, 60 head at 713 lbs at $370.00, and 32 head at 820 lbs for $327.50. On the heavier end, 10 head at 933 lbs brought $307.00, while 62 head at 1,001 lbs sold for $298.25. The barn also now holds six of the top ten highest 10-weight sales in its history.

At Bluegrass Stockyards South (Stanford, KY), Thursday’s run produced 13 new barn records across several weight classes, including all-time highs for 5-, 7-, 8-, and 9-weight steers. Among the top sales: 17 head at 574 lbs sold for $398.00, 15 head at 714 lbs at $365.00, and 66 head at 826 lbs for $334.00. The headline price came from the 124 head at 913 lbs that sold for $325.70, setting not just a barn record, but the new national high for 9-weights.

Paris Stockyards closed out Thursday, July 10, 2025, with a remarkable sale, setting 9 new barn records and breaking 4 Kentucky state records in the process. New all-time highs were established at the barn for the 5-, 7-, 8-, and 10-weight steer classes, including a standout draft of 53 head at 1,038 lbs selling for $290.25—a new Kentucky state record for 10-weights. The barn was especially strong in the 8-weight category, where the top four highest 8-weight sales in Paris Stockyards history were all posted on Thursday. Leading that charge were drafts of 59 head at 815 lbs for $329.75, 61 head at 857 lbs for $324.10, 15 head at 812 lbs for $316.50, and 11 head at 825 lbs for $312.00.
