His efforts have not only educated Chappell Red Angus customers but also contributed to a greater understanding of genetic progress, beef quality and sustainability in the region.
Chappell Red Angus consists of a small cow-calf herd in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania, with a primary focus on producing adaptable, structurally sound cattle that exhibit balanced performance and strong phenotypic traits. Through a combination of natural breeding, AI and ET practices, they integrate high-quality Red Angus genetics into their herd. This strategy allows them to offer customers extensive data and insights, ensuring buyers have a thorough understanding of the cattle they are purchasing.
“Dan embodies the spirit and qualities of Red Angus cattle producers and founding principles of our association,” said Robert Hess, RAAA Board of Directors Second Vice President. “I’ve always admired Dan’s willingness to take chances, to be a pioneer and innovator when breeding and marketing Red Angus cattle in the Northeast.”
