A notable mover was the loin primal, which dropped $4.54 to $511.77/cwt—its lowest level since May 23.

On Monday, cattle slaughter totaled 112,000 head, down from 114,000 head the previous week and 117,427 head on the same day a year ago. Year-to-date slaughter stands at 15,731,803 head, compared to 16,819,344 head at the same point last year, a decrease of 6.5%.
