Cattle weights up 14 pounds from last month, heaviest on record

U.S. live cattle weights averaged 1,401 pounds in December 2023, up 14 pounds from last month and up 16 pounds from last year.  Cattle weights averaged 1,365 pounds in 2023.

Cattle weights averaged 1,370 pounds in 2022, down 1 pound from 2021.  Cattle weights averaged 1,371 pounds in 2021, down 2 pounds from 2020.  Cattle weights averaged 1,373 pounds in 2020, the heaviest on record.

Cattle weights averaged 1,345 pounds in 2019, compared to 1,351 pounds in 2018.    Cattle weights averaged 1,349 pounds in 2017, down 14 pounds from 2016.
