Blue Grass Campbellsville Named Bimeda Market of the Month

Blue Grass Stockyards in Campbellsville, KY has been named the Bimeda Market of the Month by Corbitt Wall on his latest Feeder Flash, a recognition reserved for barns delivering exceptional sales and service. Highlighting Campbellsville’s consistent performance, Wall noted they’ve been turning in “stickout sales—tops for the nation.” 

The market at Blue Grass Stockyards in Campbellsville, KY has rewritten the record books in 2025, delivering one of the most remarkable runs in its history. Through mid-year, 69 out of 80 top sales records by weight class have been set—solidifying Campbellsville as one of the nation’s hottest barns in an already bullish cattle market.

Some of the biggest strings of the year underscore this momentum. On May 21, 67 head weighing 616 lbs brought $365.50, while another 75 head at 670 lbs sold for $347.00. That same day, 68 head averaging 736 lbs hit $337.50, and 65 head at 812 lbs brought an all-time high of $313.25. Earlier in the spring, 122 head at 746 lbs sold for $320.00 on April 16, and on May 14, a string of 61 head weighing 913 lbs brought a barn-record $303.00.

Jim Akers, who oversees the Blue Grass barns, credited the success to “just doing a good job, been getting some pretty good cattle in there, and they can sell them.” This honor underscores the barn’s growing reputation as one of the most competitive and well-run livestock markets in the country. A commemorative sign will be placed at the sale barn to mark the achievement.
