Weekly cattle slaughter is estimated at 620,000 head, representing a 2.8% increase from the prior week but a 0.8% decrease from the same period last year. Year-to-date cattle slaughter totals 9.54 million head, indicating a 4.8% decline from last year.
Live cattle weights are estimated at 1,399 pounds, showing a 1-pound increase from the previous week and a 46-pound increase from the same period last year. Dressed cattle weights remain unchanged from the previous week at 847 pounds, reflecting a 32-pound increase from last year.
