Beef & Pork Production In The United States

The United States is projected in 2020 to produce 27.1 and 28.6 billion pounds of beef and pork, respectively.    If realized, beef production will be the fourth highest on record and only the fifth time over 27 billion pounds.  Pork production will be the highest on record and the first time over 28 billion pounds.  It will be the third time on record that the United States has produced more pork than beef.

The United States first produced more than 20 billion pounds of pork in 2004.  The United States first produced more than 20 billion pounds of beef in 1966.

Beef production in the United States was more than 8 billion pounds higher than pork in 2000.
