Allied Genetic Resources announces the 2022 AGR Semen Guide

Allied Genetic Resources is celebrating the release of its 10th annual Allied Semen and Genetics Sire Directory.  From modest beginnings with just over 40 choices the first year, the Allied directory now features more than 110 high value sire options, representing some of the very best SimAngus and Simmental genetics available in the beef industry.

When asked, Marty Ropp, from Allied put it this way.  “When we started, there were just not enough new sire options each year to address producer needs for the optimum progress this industry demands.  With 51 new options in our 2022 book, we are beginning to address that issue and still provide a large number of highly proven and carefully selected sires to address the needs of those who are more focused on lower risk options.”

The crucial blend of constant genetic improvement with producer functional and even stunning phenotype is another issue being addressed by the Allied offering of sires.  “Pleasing phenotype without proven value genotype for economically important traits is not of great value to the beef business and neither is genomic greatness in a package that is not practical to produce in an industry consistently more challenged with labor and cost constraints”.  says Marty.  He then goes on to say, “Customers deserve to get everything.  Cattle that are fertile, calve easily, grow fast and efficiently, deliver distinct end product value and also make practical, long-lived females.  It sounds like a tall order, especially when producers also need great disposition, solid feet and udders and cattle that are physically what producers prefer.  As seedstock producers however, our job is to deliver everything.”

The aggregate of sires listed in this ywww.alliedgeneticresources.comear’s directory averaged a lofty +172 for $API and +97 $TI to rank in the top 2% of all Sim and SimAngus sires available in the industry.

Semen directories are in the mail, but to get a quicker look, or if you are not sure you are on the mailing list, you can find the book posted at www.alliedgeneticresources.com or feel free to contact any of our genetic focused staff.
